Keynsham Reycling Centre

Photography in Bristol

I completed an exciting project as a Bristol photographer, working on an assignment with global NGO WRAP and Bath & North East Somerset Council at Keynsham Recycling Centre. The brief focused on capturing the innovative recycling and sustainability initiatives taking place across the site, highlighting the people, processes, and positive environmental impact created by the facility.

Beforehand I met with the WRAP team several times to discuss the documentary feel of the imagery. As a Bristol photographer, it was important to authentically represent the day-to-day activity while ensuring the storytelling felt natural and engaging. During these meetings, we also carefully considered the brilliant imagery guidelines the brand has developed, ensuring the final photographs aligned with their visual identity and messaging.

The assignment involved documenting staff interactions, operational details, and the broader recycling journey experienced by visitors and workers alike. Being a Bristol Photographer travelling to nearby locations is always a joy and approach projects with strong local knowledge, helping capture genuine moments that reflect the community connection to sustainability efforts.

This project was both creatively rewarding and inspiring, demonstrating how collaboration and thoughtful planning can produce meaningful visual storytelling.
